Julius Randle Enters NBA's COVID-19 Protocols

Julius Randle has entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols.

Randle is averaging 19.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and has played in every Knicks' game this season.

Randle played in Wednesday's game and is now the fourth player on the Knicks currently in protocols.

Ricky Rubio Out For Season With Torn ACL In Left Knee

Ricky Rubio has suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the remainder of the season. Rubio previously suffered a torn ACL in the same knee during his rookie season.

Rubio was having a career year with the Cleveland Cavaliers. 

Rubio will be a free agent in 2022.

Ricky Rubio To Undergo MRI On Left Knee

Ricky Rubio will undergo an MRI on his left knee on Wednesday to assess the severity of an injury he suffered in the closing minutes of the Cleveland Cavaliers' loss at the New Orleans Pelicans.

Rubio's left knee buckled and fell to the ground as he was driving down the lane. 

Rubio immediately grabbed at his left knee in pain and signaled to the Cavs' bench for help. He was not putting any weight on his left leg as he was helped off the floor by teammates Kevin Love and Isaac Okoro.

Rubio tore his ACL in his left knee during his rookie season in Minnesota in 2012.

Garland is averaging 19.5 points, 7.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 34.2 minutes over 31 games for the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

Draymond Green Enters NBA's Health And Safety Protocols

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. Green was placed in the protocols one day after helping the Warriors to a Christmas Day victory over the Phoenix Suns.

The Warriors All-Star will now miss at least 10 days, unless he's able to produce two negative tests at least 24 hours apart. The NBA and NBPA are currently negotiating to reduce the time in the protocols from 10 days to six for players who are asymptomatic and vaccinated.

Green has had a bounce-back season for Golden State. He's been a key part of their defense and offense, as the Warriors have put together a league-best 27-6 record.

Lonzo Ball Enters NBA's Health And Safety Protocols

Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. Ball is the only Bulls player to not have missed a game this season.

Chicago has had 11 different players enter the protocols this month. In addition, Bulls head coach Billy Donovan is currently in the protocols.

Ball has averaged 13.2 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks per game for the Bulls. Ball is in the first year of a four-year, $80 million contract with Chicago.

John Collins Enters NBA's Health And Safety Protocols

Atlanta Hawks forward John Collins has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. Unless Collins returns two negative tests at least 24 hours apart, he'll be out for at least 10 days.

The NBA and NBPA are negotiating to reduce the time in the protocols to six days (from 10 days) for asymptomatic and vaccinated players.

Collins is the only Hawk to play in all 32 of the team's games this season. He's averaged 17.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game this season.

Atlanta forward Jalen Johnson was also placed in the protocols. The addition of Collins and Johnson gives the Hawks 10 players currently in the protocols.

Kyle Lowry Enters NBA's Health And Safety Protocols

Miami Heat guard Kyle Lowry has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. The veteran guard will be out 10 days, unless he can produce two negative tests at least 24 hours apart.

The NBA and NBPA are negotiating to lower the time a player is out from 10 to six days, if the player is vaccinated and asymptomatic.

Lowry has been one of the healthier members of the Heat this season. The 15-year veteran has missed only two games, while several other Miami starters and rotation players have missed considerable time.

Paul George Out 3-4 Weeks With Torn UCL In Elbow

Paul George will miss at least three to four weeks with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow.

The Los Angeles Clippers hope George is able to return after a period of rest.

George sprained his elbow on Dec. 6 against Portland and rested and rehabbed for two weeks.  George returned after a five-game layoff on Dec. 20.

CJ McCollum Healed From Collapsed Right Lung

CJ McCollum's right lung is fully healed and he will be re-evaluated next week.

McCollum was diagnosed with a collapsed lung after suffering a rib injury on December 4th. McCollum has been cleared for noncontact drills, increased conditioning and shooting. 

McCollum is averaging 20.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and 4.5 assists.
